March 20, 2019 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Driftless Market is hosting it’s very first Story Slam on Wednesday March 20th at 6 PM. If you’ve never been to a story slam before, you’re in for a treat! Anyone can sign up at the door to tell their story, but heads up - our sign up sheet will only have space for 10 storytellers. Each story must relate to the chosen theme. It’s only fitting that our theme is First Times - this could be your first time traveling out of the country, first time applying for a job, first date, etc., we only ask that you keep your stories 100% PG 13, so get creative! Whether your story is jubilant, comical, or downright depressing, we want to hear them all!

Every storyteller will be judged on storytelling ability, content, and time. Each story should be no less than 5 minutes and no more than 10 minutes. If you’re interested in being one of our three judges, please send us a message!

We can’t wait to hear your story!

This event is FREE to attend and light refreshments will be available. Children are welcome, but bear in mind we will not be able to screen the stories beforehand.

Driftless Market wants to help you start the year off right with a discussion on the Three R’s - Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle! Travis Sossaman, Assistant Professor of Plastics at the University of Wisconsin - Platteville, will be holding an informative seminar at Driftless Market on recycling, the limitations of recycling, biodegradable plastics, composting safely, and most importantly, how to make decisions that will reduce your carbon footprint overall. We truly only have one planet and the time to make a difference for our future is now, so this is an event you won’t want to miss! Plus, we will be holding a drawing to help you on your way to a plastic-free lifestyle!
